Who we are

Data we process

Product data from your store: titles, descriptions, vendor, product type, SKU, barcode, weight, HS codes, country-specific codes and country of origin.

Order data, used only for customs documents and the EU parcel duty preview: order line items, quantities, values and the destination country. Order data is read from Shopify when you use these tools and is never stored.

We do not request or store customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.

Why we process it

To suggest customs codes for your products, to record the codes you approve, to write approved codes back to your store, and to build customs documents and exports for you.

Every suggestion is a suggestion: no code is written to your store until you approve it.

Sub-processors

Anthropic (AI model provider): receives the product title, description, product type, Shopify product category and your answer to a deciding question, to produce code suggestions. Inputs are not used for training.

Hetzner Online GmbH: hosts the app, its database and the classification service on a server in Finland (EU).

We never use your store's data to train or improve AI models.

Processing terms for your customers' data

For the order data of your customers, you are the controller and we are your processor. By installing Tarifa you agree to these terms, which apply alongside Shopify's terms.

We process that data only on your instructions, which are the features described above, and keep it confidential. We use only the sub-processors listed here.

Data is encrypted in transit. Store access tokens are encrypted at rest. Your customers' order data is never stored on our server. We tell you without undue delay if a personal data breach affects your store's data, and we help you answer your customers' requests about their data.

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about your customers.

Retention and deletion

When you uninstall Tarifa, your store's access tokens are deleted immediately.

All other data about your store is deleted when Shopify sends its shop redaction request, and in every case within 30 days of uninstall.

After deletion, only a record that the deletion request was handled (store domain and date) is kept, as proof of compliance.

You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or its deletion at any time.
